An Apple a Day...

Instead of going out for lunch or coffee the other day,  Heather and I went for dessert to a place called Passion 5, located in a very nondescript tall glass building on the eastern edge of Itaewon. Koreans love their sweets and pastries and thanks to this, there are a multitude of French quality patisseries throughout Seoul in the form of chains such as Paris Croissant and Paris Baguette and fancier establishments such as Passion 5. Incredibly chic and modern with white, black and clear acrylic decor, Passion 5 has the most gorgeous, perfectly constructed desserts I've ever seen, along with beautiful breads, sandwiches, chocolates and my favorite, French macaroons. We went for the unusual and chose green apple mousse and a slice of Earl Grey cake. Green apple flavored anything and Earl Grey tea are two of my favorite things in life and these two desserts could quite possibly have been the pinnacles of use of these two flavors. We paired them with jasmine and camomile teas and enjoyed a nice leisurely, late afternoon dessert....and of course great conversation. Note to self: having dessert that late is a great excuse to not have to cook a full dinner later.

An apple from Eden and a slice from Heaven.

Wonder if an apple like this a day would still keep the doctor away?
